DETAILS OF EACH BELOW:
#1. The Lead Rope
~ THIS 12-foot PINK DOUBLE BRAIDED POLYESTER LEAD ROPE WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES IN GENEROUS PROPORTIONS. It is 9/16" EQ double braided yacht rope, made specifically with horse training in mind. WE SELL A LOT OF LEADS, BUT THIS ONE TOPS THE LIST! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE HIGHEST QUALITY ON THE MARKET AND WILLING TO PAY A FEW DOLLARS MORE TO GET IT, THIS IS THE LEAD & HALTER YOU WANT.
The lead is 12 FT. in length and 9/16" in diameter, a perfect length and diameter for training horses of all ages. It is long enough to teach ground work at a safe distance, but not so long that you are dragging or bundling excess rope up in your hands. It will come with a brass bull snap as shown in the photos.
The core is made with heavy braided polyester for control and a superior transfer of energy. The cover is a high twist polyester braid designed specifically to be non-abrasive and soft to the hands. A feature that is appreciated when handling a heavy pulling horse.
It also features a generous 5 inch hand spliced and sewn loop for ease of changing hardware, a heavy 4 inch brass bull snap, and a full 6 1/2 inch weighted end. The weighted end has a balance that makes it so easy to spin and twirl that even a beginner can do it. Once you use it a few times, you will be hooked! This lead rope has AMAZING feel. It and the halter were designed by clinician Marvin Thomey. This lead is designed for hand to horse training so avoid using it for other purposes.
The smallest of wiggle at one end easily carries the full length of this lead. This is the most important action any lead can offer. Try the same with the leads sold at your local feed store. It won't happen.
#2. The 4-knot Rope Halter
~ THIS IS A PINK AVERAGE SIZE 4-knot Rope HALTER. It is made from a stiff, full-bodied 1/4 inch double braided polyester yachting cord of the highest quality available. If you are familiar with those used and sold by Clinton Anderson, this halter is a twin. It's design discourages horses from pulling and leaning against it. This halter is comfortable on the horse when he doesn't pull and becomes somewhat uncomfortable when he does pull. Horses soon learn the "right" behavior to find the "comfortable" feel. Ray Hunt always said to make the right behavior comfortable and the wrong behavior uncomfortable. This halter can help the trainer accomplish this goal. The halter's 4 noseband knots successfully communicate cues when lunging, leading, or flexing. The knots are strategically located on the pressure points of the nose to help get the horse's attention if he should refuse to yield to pressure. HALTER SIZING GUIDELINES:
1. Muzzle diameter ~ Measure ABOVE the muzzle, around the face where the halter would sit (about halfway between eyes and nose) then add 2".
2. Measure from the front of the cheekbone to the back of the jaw (add or subtract 1/2" will fit).
3. Measure from the throatlatch to the bottom of the muzzle where the lips meet. Divide number by 2. (1/2" range will fit)
4. Measure where the halter would sit just below the cheekbone, up and over the poll (behind ears) and down to just below the cheekbone, then add 6"
